Discovering the history of when people who’ve had to learn
to communicate with cultures they've never knew of, made me realize how intertwined the world was and more than ever is.
Even though China has a history of persecuting other religions, the followers of those religions have persisted and through that, the pastor of my church was converted to Christianity there and through his journey, he made his way to The Netherlands where he started a church. This eventually leads to my conversion through a Chinese Christian pastor. Through my interactions with Chinese Christians, I've heard some of their stories and therefore I discovered that the image the Western media presents about
China isn't complete. One story can be depicted in many ways, just like how the West and East neither are depicting Bible stories correctly since it happened in the Middle East. Since
I am discovering new narratives, I also want to retell the same story twice, to take a look at the similarities and differences.
