Using the internet frequently means that I am exposed to the opinions of different people from various backgrounds, be it racial, geographical, or gender. Putting your views out there often does not end in a discourse. People are too focused on their perspective and the comment sections get loaded with the same judgments. This is often due to the algorithm of the internet platform you are using, if you do not seek it, you will not find another narrative. Through this, their beliefs will be reaffirmed and they won’t seek to question such beliefs.

Often I find myself reading comment after comment and absorbing all that information in, but never putting my own opinions out there. I want to be able to understand the foundation of their beliefs better and taking a neutral stance is much easier to start a conversation.
